Virtual therapy and EMDR intensives for adults addressing anxiety, trauma, and life transitions, available throughout New York.

Therapy that helps you understand what's happening, process what's underneath it, and respond differently in your everyday life.

You may be functioning well on the outside while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, burned out, or stuck in patterns you understand intellectually but still cannot seem to change.

Maybe you have already spent time reflecting, reading, journaling, or talking things through. You know where some of your patterns come from. You may even know what you are “supposed” to do differently.

And still, your reactions keep showing up.

Individual therapy gives us space to look more closely at what is happening in your thoughts, emotions, body, relationships, and nervous system so we can understand what is keeping you stuck and begin working with it in a more intentional way.

You Don't Need to Have Everything Figured Out Before Starting Therapy

People come to individual therapy for many different reasons.

You might be dealing with:

  • Anxiety, panic, or constant overthinking

  • Chronic stress or feeling emotionally overwhelmed

  • Trauma or difficult past experiences

  • Burnout and difficulty slowing down

  • Perfectionism and harsh self-criticism

  • People-pleasing or difficulty setting boundaries

  • Relationship patterns that keep repeating

  • Grief, loss, or a major life transition

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself

  • Difficulty identifying or expressing emotions

  • Feeling stuck even after previous therapy

  • Pressure to succeed while feeling exhausted underneath it all

You may know exactly what you want to work on. You may also simply know that something needs to change.

Both are valid places to begin.

Individual Therapy That Goes Beyond Talking About the Problem

Insight matters. Understanding why you feel the way you do can be an important part of therapy.

My approach also pays attention to what happens after you understand the pattern.

You may know that you are people-pleasing and still struggle to say no. You may understand why conflict makes you anxious and still feel your body go into alarm when someone is upset with you. You may know you deserve rest and still feel guilty every time you slow down.

That's where we begin looking at the pattern from several angles.

Depending on your needs, individual therapy may include:

EMDR Therapy
To process memories, experiences, beliefs, and triggers that continue to affect you in the present.

Somatic Therapy
To understand how stress, anxiety, and past experiences show up in your body and nervous system.

Art Therapy
To explore emotions and experiences through creative expression when words feel limited or overly intellectual.

Insight-Oriented Psychotherapy
To understand recurring patterns, relationships, beliefs, and experiences that shape how you respond today.

Mindfulness and Emotional Regulation
To help you notice what is happening internally and develop greater flexibility in how you respond.

Your therapy doesn't need to look exactly like anyone else’s. We use the approaches that make sense for you and adjust as the work develops.

What We Might Work On Together

Individual therapy may involve:

✔ Understanding patterns that keep repeating
✔ Processing experiences that still affect you emotionally
✔ Recognizing anxiety and stress responses earlier
✔ Becoming less reactive when something feels threatening or overwhelming
✔ Building healthier boundaries
✔ Reducing perfectionism and self-criticism
✔ Learning how to rest without feeling guilty
✔ Developing greater emotional awareness
✔ Feeling more confident in your decisions
✔ Building relationships that feel more reciprocal and grounded
✔ Reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been pushed aside
✔ Creating a life that reflects what actually matters to you

What Can Change Through Therapy

Over time, you may begin to notice that situations that once felt overwhelming feel more manageable.

You may catch yourself before automatically saying yes.

You may recover more quickly after a stressful interaction.

You may notice anxiety without immediately spiraling into it.

You may feel more comfortable making decisions without searching for reassurance.

You may begin to trust yourself more.

You may understand what you need and feel more able to communicate it.

And the patterns you have spent years trying to manage may begin taking up less space in your life.
