Therapy for College Students in New York & NYC

Support for stress, anxiety, and life transitions during college

Feeling Overwhelmed in College?

College can be one of the most transformative times of your life, but it’s also one of the most demanding. Whether you're living on campus in NYC, commuting from home, or taking classes online, you’re likely managing more than most people realize. You might be wondering:

  • Why do I feel so anxious all the time?

  • I’m surrounded by people, but I still feel alone.

  • How do I stay on top of everything without burning out?

Therapy can give you space to unpack these questions and get the support you need to feel grounded again.

You’re not alone. Students across New York and NYC reach out for help with:

  • Academic Stress & Burnout

Constant deadlines, performance pressure, and GPA worries

Struggling with who you are and where you’re headed

  • Social Anxiety & Isolation

Feeling out of place even in crowded rooms or campus events

  • Family & Cultural Pressure

Especially common among first-gen students balancing two worlds

  • Depression or Mood Swings

A lack of motivation, low energy, or disconnection from yourself

How Therapy Helps You in College

Therapy offers more than just a place to vent. You’ll learn how to:

  • Make sense of what you’re feeling

  • Manage stress, anxiety, and panic

  • Build emotional regulation tools that actually work

  • Strengthen your self-trust and self-worth

  • Explore who you are—beyond grades, roles, or expectations

My approach blends talk therapy with art therapy, EMDR, and somatic tools. You don’t have to choose one method. We’ll use what helps you feel safe and supported.

What If I Don’t Know Where to Start?

That’s okay. You don’t need to have a specific issue or goal in mind. Therapy can help you figure out what’s underneath the stress, whether it's unresolved experiences, expectations you’re carrying, or burnout that’s gone unchecked.

“I know something’s off, but I don’t know what to call it.”
That’s enough of a reason to reach out.

Specialized Support for First-Gen College Students

As a first-generation college student, you might feel stuck between worlds. Maybe you're navigating guilt, pressure to succeed, or the sense that no one really gets what you're dealing with.

I’ve supported many first-gen students attending schools like CUNY, NYU, and SUNY. Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to translate or explain everything. We go at your pace.

Virtual Therapy for Students in NYC and Across New York

All sessions are online, so you can attend from your dorm, apartment, or even your parents’ house. I work with:

  • Undergrads, grad students, and transfer students

  • Students attending school in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Westchester

  • People living in New York  who are currently enrolled in school

If your school is based in NY or you live here permanently, you're eligible for services.

How to Start Therapy as a College Student

Here’s how the process works:

  1. Schedule a free consultation
We’ll talk through what’s been going on and make sure it feels like a good fit.

  2. Start weekly or biweekly sessions
I’ll tailor our work based on your preferences, needs, and schedule.

  3. Learn tools and build insight
You'll leave sessions with a sense of clarity, calm, or practical support.

FAQs About College Student Therapy

Do you offer therapy for college students in NYC?

Yes. I work virtually with students across all five boroughs, including those attending NYU, Columbia, Fordham, CUNY, and other campuses throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.

Is online therapy effective for college students?

Absolutely. It’s flexible, private, and fits around your class schedule. All you need is a quiet space and a stable connection.

What if I’m too anxious or busy to start?

That’s exactly when therapy can help the most. The first step is often the hardest, but you don’t have to do it perfectly. We’ll work with your schedule and comfort level.

What if I don’t know how to explain what I’m feeling?

You don’t need the right words. I’ll help you make sense of it. You can talk, draw, write, or reflect quietly. We’ll figure it out together.

How much does therapy cost?

I offer private pay sessions and provide superbills for possible reimbursement. Many students use HSA/FSA cards. If you're in financial need, I can also recommend low-cost referral options.
