When I started Lenora, my vision was clear: I wanted to create a space where young adults could explore their emotions, discover their identities, and navigate the challenges of life through creativity. Art therapy has the power to be transformative, and I wanted to offer a guiding light for those still figuring out who they are and who they want to be.
But why the name Lenora? It’s more than just a name—it’s a reflection of the values that drive my practice.
Lenora: A Symbol of Light
The name Lenora holds deep meaning. It translates to "light," "sun ray," or "torch," and that imagery speaks perfectly to the transformative power of art therapy. I believe that creativity is like a guiding light—it helps illuminate inner strengths and untapped potential. For young adults navigating the uncertainties of life, art therapy can be that light, offering a way to explore, express, and heal.
In my practice, art becomes the medium through which people can shed light on their thoughts and emotions. It’s not just about creating art—it's about uncovering new perspectives and understanding yourself in a more profound way.
Compassion at the Core
Lenora also means "compassionate one," which resonates deeply with the environment I aim to create. As an art therapist, empathy is at the core of my work. My goal is to foster a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported. Through this compassion, clients can explore difficult emotions in a safe environment while building resilience and self-awareness.
It’s important to me that everyone who walks into Lenora feels held with care, knowing that whatever they’re going through, they’re not alone.
Honoring a Personal Legacy
On a personal level, the name Lenora carries even more significance—it was my grandmother's name. She was a woman of strength, resilience, and deep compassion, and she inspired me in many ways. Choosing this name for my practice is my way of honoring her legacy and bringing the same qualities into my work.
By infusing the practice with this name, I hope to offer a space that reflects warmth, strength, and understanding—the very values my grandmother embodied.
A Journey of Growth Together
At Lenora, my mission is to help young adults discover their own path, using art therapy as a tool for self-discovery and growth.
